Carl Philipp Schilling, The Sacred Heart of Jesus Enthroned

1919
Fresco
St. Blaise Church, Glottertal, Germany

As usual, Jesus' heart is aflame and his hands show the nail marks from the crucifixion. Otherwise, this is a quite unusual variant of the Sacred Heart iconography. Jesus extends his arms in welcome from a throne to which come representatives of the whole world: European laymen of every station on the left, and on the right people from the other continents following the clergy (a priest, a bishop, and two deacons).

In the background, between the farmer and the king, one sees the Glottertal church itself.

The welcoming gesture is also seen in this Sacred Heart statue in Windsor, Canada.
